Spine Ergo Back Protector for Skiers
by Pat Moore
The Spine Ergo back protector sold very well
last year at the ski shop where I work.
We’d love to get some independent reviews
of it. Click

Here’s what the manufacturer POC, a Swedish company,
says about it:
In its Spine Ergo back protector, POC has taken the design
of back protection for skiers one step further by considering
specific aspects of ergonomics related to skiers needs. Spine
Ergo gives the skier an individual fit that follows the curve
of the back and improves and sets as the protector is used.
The interlocking plates link together perfectly using a 3D assembly
method and fitting foam. For optimal performance and protection
without compromising safety, the whole back protector has been
lightened by reducing or taking away some of the material. Ventilation
has been improved by 35% compared to the earlier models, and
the waistband is placed and designed to give maximum comfort
and minimum restriction of movement.
Accessories
They also offer a couple of accessories.
Cervical
A must according to us, as skiers, and to our medical experts.
This extra shield, made from a sandwich construction of heat-molded
foam, protects the top part of the spine from vertebrae C to
C . You can easily snap-fit it to Spine.
Coccyx
At last you can also protect the lowest part of your spine
- the caudal region - from impact and resulting pain! Coccyx
snaps onto the Spine back-shield just as easily as Cervical
and is made from a similar sandwich construction of heat-molded
foam.
